Unchanging God in a Changing World

The word of God tells us in Hebrews 13:8 that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” It is also written in Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” It is important for us to know that nothing is an absolute, except the word of God. Our world is changing so fast and whatever we know to be facts in the past, would have changed in the present.

These changes are anything from word definitions to political issues. A common change is the use of the word ‘bad’ to mean something is ‘good’. As time goes by, what we once called sacred is no longer sacred because man in his sinful nature is becoming an agent of destruction. In the midst of this, we as followers of Jesus Christ should remember, it is not about how we begin but how we finish our race on earth because the level of compromise is beyond comprehension.

The word that saved us is the same today. The meaning is the same, the power is the same and His grace is unchanging. His Kingdom is everlasting and His economy is not in a mess. Praise God!

We were taught to pray “let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”. On this note beloved, I will encourage you to take this prayer seriously as we have been taught by the Lord Himself. The kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost according to Romans 14:17.

In the month of November, we are gathering together during our Achievers Conference for three days of prayer, to cry out to our unchanging God for changes to happen in the world.

My perspective of the world is not yours. Before the year runs out, I encourage you to define your world because the world is not the political nation you were born into. It is about your sphere of influence and the area of influence you find yourself such as education, arts and media, politics, economy, science, sports, etc.  You should define your world, so through days of prayer, you can commit to being one of God’s agents for Kingdom agenda.

From the book of Acts, we read the account of Paul in Thessalonica about him preaching and teaching. Subsequently, the Jews became envious and rose up evil men from the market place to attack the house of Jason (Acts 17:5-6). The words used when Jason was dragged to the rulers of the city were “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too”. These men dared to stand for God in their days and they were recognised to be different. They suffered for it because they understood that persecution, as painful as it was and still is, is part of the blessings promised by the Lord.

Ask yourself these questions:

• What are you willing to sacrifice to see your world glorify Christ?
• What are you willing to suffer, to see the name of Christ known through your life?

Beloved, if your walk with Jesus is not causing you to go the opposite direction to the way of the world, I implore you to stop, rethink and change direction! If your lifestyle is not causing those around you to say “you are turning our ideas upside down”, then rethink. I am not saying “think”, I am saying “rethink” because your thought patterns need changing.

A while ago, the Lord told me that He has His witness in every sphere of the society but we are not functioning agents of His within the society. Where we are professing Christians, we are NOT practising Christians. We adapt so well to our environment that it is becoming more difficult to know who is actually following Jesus Christ.

Yes our world is changing but not towards godliness. God is still looking for those who will stand in the gap for the world. God is still looking for those who will stand in the gap for their family. God is still looking for those who will say “yes” to His commission for the world.

This November, stop being a sitting saint, become a standing and walking saint to see the Kingdom of God established in your world. Those who turned their world upside down did not sit to do it!

Join us from Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th November 2013 to birth purpose and receive your commission or renew your commission order!
