“So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.’ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done.” Acts 4:18-21
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a new season.
Autumn is a season noted for leaves falling all over the neighbourhoods and no matter how beautiful the neighbourhood is, the leaves will fall off the trees and mess it up. The more you clean the road and your courtyard, the more you have sweep up the leaves again the next morning. It is also a season noted for rain and storm. The more you wash your car the dirtier it becomes because of the poodles on the road.
This season is not all about bad news of the weather and falling of leaves.
It is a season in which we gain an extra hour to sleep and achieve more activities!
Praise the Lord for this extra hour!
Latecomers will arrive on time thinking they are late.
Well if there is a change in season, I say we need to have a change in attitude too. Our attitude cannot be of complacency or apathy. Neither can it be lethargic in the things of Christ (as associated with this season).
We cannot be complacent towards sharing our conviction of faith in Christ which was borne out of an encounter with the living Christ. Neither are we to be passive expecting someone somewhere to do it for us.
We are to get involved regardless of the threat that confronts us on all sides.
People of God, and I mean those of us that are already purchased with the precious Blood of Jesus, are to stand up and be counted now than ever before.
Our attitude now should be “for we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:20.
If you have seen how your life have been transformed by the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, and have heard the truth as He is the Truth, Speak and don’t be silent!
CHRISTIANITY is not a religion BUT a relationship with the living God through our Risen Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.
Stand Up, Stand Up and be counted for JESUS.
