“When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7
Thank you for taking time to read this article. As your precious time is very special and important to me, I therefore plan to make it worth your while.
Observing many believers especially in my community, I found out that most of their prayer lives centres on spiritual warfare (which is normal) as we are spiritual beings caught in battles but the vital rule of engagement is often violated by the very same people.
First I want you to understand that we are in a battle with the unseeing forces of darkness and the seeing forces that yielded themselves to work against our progress. They work to antagonise us, humiliate us, they work 24/7 to hinder our progress and subject us to untold hardship and the list is endless but regardless of the raging battles we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. In the midst of these enemies lies the truth that in the world there are agents of good and evil, light and darkness, there will always be conflict the known and unknown.
There is a new phenomenon going on (and to be real it is not new but we are just hearing the intensity of it as we see the Day approaching), that some have declared themselves as atheist and sadly some are walking away from our most holy faith to declare their allegiance to other religions.
This should not surprise anyone of you as there is nothing new under heaven. We read that many of Jesus’ disciples left Him too when His purpose of coming to the world and the condition of belonging to Him was made known to them according to gospel of John 6:60, 66 “Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is hard saying; who can understand it? From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.”
Some of us are ordained to follow Jesus Christ till the end while some will fall away according to scripture, “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4.
Before you launch deep into 2015, I want you to know that you cannot stop this warfare but knowing how to war victoriously and be at peace with the Lord are the two most important aspects of life.
The word of God says we are more than a conqueror. Not just a conqueror. There is a difference between the two words.
To be more than a conqueror, I want to submit to you that your ways, “lifestyle” must please God!
How do you declare war against enemies that lives perpetually in disobedience against God’s will when you are disobeying God’s will too. The word of God says that we cannot judge disobedient until our obedient is complete.
How do you fast and pray (bear in mind that agents of darkness fast too!) against the enemy of your progress and promotion while you take your eyes away from The One who truly promotes and not meet the condition for His promoting you? Yes, it is His will to lift you above your enemies but His righteous justice makes it difficult in doing so.
You must live a life of humility. Promotion comes through a lifestyle of humility. Not wanting your own way that is outside the will of God. “And being found in the appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.” Philippians 2:8-9
Ladies and gentlemen, if our ways pleases the Lord our enemies will be at peace with us. It does not mean that they want to be at peace (because they are not agents of peace) but they will not have a choice.
The word of God says that God made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel (Psalm 103:7).
There is something about the ways of God. It’s about how God does things, how He wants them done and/or what He requires from us. The ways of God is based on WHO God IS. Holy and Righteous. His ways are embedded in His holy nature and in righteousness.
The ways of God are known through His words and life of prayer. The result is that He subjects your enemies to be at peace with you and work for you. Those who know the ways of God demonstrate the acts of God.
Let this year be the year that your light shines in and through darkness as you endeavour to know the ways of God.
