Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to April!
A month that’s full of surprises. The good and not so good ones. But in it all God, is still good.
If there’s a time we need not be ruffled by news and circumstances it’s now. So much is happening in our world politically and economically that can cause you to stumble or even fall away from faith.
But knowing who we are, whose we are and what we are sent here on earth to accomplish are part of the medicines for our souls.
Do you know who you are?
Oh no, I don’t mean in the natural.
I don’t mean your surname or who your dad is – business man, son/daughter of doctor, son/daughter of a politician, son/daughter of the General Overseer or the Pastor’s kid even the President’s child. No these are all natural and these come with limitations. Their position is subject to change any time. Here today, gone tomorrow.
The word of God says we are a royal priesthood, we are peculiar people, a chosen generation. Born to proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvellous light! (1 Peter 2:9)
We are the children of Him who Enthrone and Dethrone. His power and resources are all unlimited! He rules over the affairs of men and His Kingdom is everlasting (Psalm 145:13).
When you know who you are and whose you are, you will compose yourself in the midst of the storm
The four Hebrew boys in Babylon composed themselves in the face of Fire and with great determination did not waiver in their faith towards God, who is able to save them and just in case He chooses not to, they still resolute in their minds not to bow in the midst of storm (Daniel 3:1-25).
Purpose in your mind and within you that nothing will move you from a lifestyle of faith to a presumptuous lifestyle. For by faith we please God! (1 Corinthians 15:58, Hebrew 11:6).
To compose yourself means, be still. Put yourself together in the midst of crisis.
There are various crises or storms of life. Depending where you are going and what you set out to do on the other side of the river.
If Jesus faced the storm no one is immune from it!
Be still and know that our Lord rules over the storm to calm our fears and anxiety. Be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6).
Have a fruitful, joyful, peaceful storm conquering April.
